The Journal includes peer reviewed scientific research articles, systematic reviews, case reports, protocols, guidelines and other articles along with news and updates from ABCD.

Obesity is increasingly becoming a common cause for chronic kidney disease, even in the absence of diabetes or hypertension. In this webinar Dr Neil Docherty, Dr Andrew Frankel and Dr Ricardo Cohen will be discussing the pathophysiology, and medical and surgical treatment options for people with obesity and kidney disease. This will include pharmacotherapy and bariatric surgery to achieve the BMI cut offs for kidney transplantation.
NICE committee member recruitment - diabetic retinopathy guideline
Committee members are being recruited for NICE’s diabetic retinopathy guideline committee.

NCEPOD Transition study - Health and Social Care Professional survey
NCEPOD are exploring the process of the transition of young people with complex chronic conditions from child to adult health services.
The aim of the study is to explore the barriers and facilitators in the process of the transition of young people with complex chronic conditions from child to adult health services.
Information is being collected from primary, community, physical and mental healthcare settings.

Due to the pressure on hospital teams during the COVID pandemic, we postponed the 2021 competition but are now launching a revamped award for 2022 which has been amended to take into account the current COVID situation. We are inviting colleagues to submit entries which will be for:
Diabetes & Endocrinology Workforce Census 2022
We have now launched the annual census of Consultants in Diabetes and Endocrinology. This is being done on behalf of ABCD, SfE, Diabetes UK and The Royal College of Physicians London who are also project managing this census.
There has never been a more important time to gather information about how were all working and the impact our jobs have on our lives.
NCEPOD Transition study - young person and parent carer online survey
NCEPOD are undertaking a study to look at the process of transition from child to adult health services. As part of this study, they are collecting the views of young people and parent carers on the transition process via an online survey.
